Thanks to my good friend Cole, I am now up and running again with my home PC. I’ve had access to a computer for the last week (at work, naturally). Let this be a lesson to you all, never trust a flash of the BIOS in Windows! Lesson number 2 would be that it is incredibly difficult to flash your BIOS with a floppy disk when your floppy disk controller is bad.

Thankfully Cole had a USB floppy drive he let me borrow, and I’ve been running relatively error free since Saturday morning. It is good to have Big Blue back in business. I was getting very worried that I would need to buy a new motherboard. I love this PC, and when it works it is a monster. The thought of abandoning perfectly good hardware was difficult for me to swallow. I’m glad I now don’t have to worry about it.

I hope y’all are having a great weekend!
